It is a 2×2 grid with columns labeled “Urgent/Not Urgent” and rows label “Important/Not Important”.

Most people spend time in LC Zone, the bottom right of not important and not urgent activity.

So where should you spend your time?

The Smart People Spend in the IMPORTANT and URGENT zone right?  

WRONG To get ahead you MUST spend time in the Important and NOT Urgent Zone.

Why Focus On The NOT Urgent?
The urgent is always getting attention… it is urgent after all
The screaming baby gets fed, the squeaky wheel gets oiled, the FIRE gets put out
That is the problem, you will just be putting out fires all day with little to no progress

How Do You Know You Are Focused on the RIGHT Things?
The Asymmetricals (remember then Asymmetrical Apple)
Stuff nobody is talking about at ALL, you set the tone, direction and focus
Nobody would notice if you did NOT do it but they’ll immediately notice process/results later

Too many goals is just as dangerous as no goal.

Winners and losers have the same goals.
They wish for the same things.

Your business will never rise to your wish list…
It will always fall to your checklist.

The goal is to makes sure when you “fall” to your checklist
You are still higher than anybody else.
Focus on your checklist.
A business is nothing more than a checklist,
the business with the better checklist will always win.

Asking the right questions.

How many of these are youdoing right now?

10 Question Test:
Do we have a list of Doublers?
How can we get better testimonials?
How can we use our weekly emails better?
What would a list of dream JV partners look like?
What would be the best way to triple our referrals?
How can we improve the way we answer/return calls?
What are three free lead generation methods we can test?
Can everybody list five things to do right after a call to follow up?
What other businesses could/should we buy, acquire or merge with?
What package can we send in the mail after appointments/calls for improvements?

The BEST way to start?
Small… very, very small.

Intern Model in Five Steps
1.) Screen companies and pick one or pick yours
2.) Use the 10 BASIC questions from today and implement (GXM)
3.) Keep doing that until you have set predictable cause and results
4.) Repeat steps 1-3 until you have a solid, reliable CHECKLIST developed
5.) Create an INTERN Program and recruit revolving team to execute Policies (REPEAT)
